Teach for America (TFA) Alum and graduate of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education’s Institute of Urban School Leaders; Blackburn went on to become an Atlanta Public Schools Semi-Finalist for District Wide Teacher of the Year. Awarded by Fulton County Government for founding a community wide literacy initiative that promoted the need and love for literacy in early childhood education in communities where the schools were at risk for government take-over.
