EXCLUSIVE: 90 City Schools Failed To Pass A Single Black or Hispanic on State Test
Dozens of public schools across the city failed to pass even a single black or Hispanic student on this year’s state math or reading exams, a new analysis shows.
Pro-charter school group Families for Excellent Schools found no black or Hispanic kids passed the standardized tests based on the more stringent Common Core standards at 90 schools with diverse student bodies.
Families for Excellent Schools CEO Jeremiah Kittredge said the study’s findings should shock the city Education Department into taking fresh action to help struggling students.
“It’s time for bold and transformational change,” said Kittredge. “We need to acknowledge that this is not the fault of children — it’s the fault of our system.”

Why Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Is Investing Millions In Charter Schools
Millions of dollars are being invested in the private prison by Wall Street hedge fund managers, Fortune 500 Corporations and everyone else seeking to profit off of American’s most booming business. We all know the facts and statics on the rising rate of incarceration and how it its not a cost effective measure, but a profit driven motive to those who seek to profit off prison labor. But, what is not known is these same 500 Corporations and Wall Street hedge fund managers are making a windfall of money by not only investing in private prison, but on their investment in Charter Schools. It all started back in 2001, when then President Clinton signed into law, the ‘Consolidation Appropriation Act’. This law included provisions from the ‘Community Renewal Tax Relief’. Unlock Your Pension From Being Invested In Private Prison
Too many public pensions are directly invested in the private prison industry. The future financial security of teachers and public employees should not depend on separating families and locking up our community members.
There is a need to be a divestment from companies and institutions that use public pensions to invest in CCA and GEO:

California City May Charge Kindergartners With Misdemeanor For Bullying
The fight to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline must continue to wage on in each respective city. In Carson, California the City Council gave a preliminary approval to an ordinance aimed persons, including other youths, who cause anyone from kindergarten to age 25 to feel terrorized, harassed or threatened with no legitimate purpose.
In this new proposal, children as young as kindergarten-age could face misdemeanor charges for bullying under a proposed law advancing in the Southern California city.
According to The Daily Breeze, a final vote is expected on May 20.
First-time offenders could be ticketed for an infraction and fined $100. A second infraction would cost $200, and a third-time offense could bring a criminal misdemeanor charge.
